90% of Cancer Patients Suffer From Pain
It is believed that as many as 90% of patients with advanced cancer
have moderate to severe pain. The physicians and staff of the
Parker Pain & Rehab Center understand the serious implications
of uncontrolled pain in patients with cancer.
The figure below represents how unrelieved pain may affect the
balance of well being in the patient and the family. Because the
psychological aspects and other symptoms can not be easily controlled,
the balance of well-being rests on compassionate effective pain
management.
We believe that as patients with cancer live longer as the result
of effective treatments, equally effective measures must be utilized
to allow patients to live free of severe pain or overwhelming
medical side-effects. We offer conservative and aggressive therapies
for the treatment of pain which affects the abdomen, pelvis, vertebral
column and long bones. We also offer medical management with narcotics
and adjuncts for terminal and palliative care in patients who
have cancer pain not amenable to ablative therapies or who desire
this form of treatment. |
